
Unwoman (Erica Mulkey) is a solo cellist-singer-songwriter-producer based in Northern California. She has performed all over the US at steampunk, goth, horror, and sci-fi events. Her powerful sets feature stand-up five-string electric cello and vocals, with deeply immersive live looping. Unwoman’s tenth original album IF YOUR RAGE CAN’T BE BEAUTIFUL was released January 1, 2026; she also has nine covers album. Her song “The Heroine” was featured in both Welcome to Night Vale’s “Triptych” episode and the steampunk documentary Vintage Tomorrows. In 2015 she received the Steampunk Chronicle Reader’s Choice Award for Best Solo Musician and Best Album with Circling.
Unwoman has collaborated with Halou, Voltaire, Eliza Rickman, Vernian Process, Abney Park, Caustic, Beauty Queen Autopsy, Rasputina, Nathaniel Johnstone, The Cog Is Dead, Jill Tracy, Paul Mercer, and many other acts.
