Avalon Rising has been delivering its unique blend of Celtic/Medieval progressive rock for many years at science fiction conventions, festivals, and other venues from Northern California to Jinan, China. Their rich acoustic/electric sound has been called “shimmeringly original”, “a refreshing new approach to an old world style, and “wets the mind like Irish mist” — brilliant male and female vocals over intricate instrumental arrangements, supported by a vibrant rhythmic background. Elements of Celtic folk, French Medieval, psychedelic jam band, and funk interweave, conflict, and finally coalesce into a stunning, surprising whole. They have released three albums, “Avalon Rising”, “Storming Heaven”, and “Elbows and Antlers” on the Flowinglass Music label. Founding members Kristoph Klover and Margaret Davis won the Lost Chord Award in 2018 and are members of the Filk Hall of Fame.
