Charles Bates, known as Yahzick or the DM online, has been making YouTube videos since 2008. He is most known as the DM from his “D&D Edition” videos with Mann Shorts.
Yahzick’s music combines high-energy electronic instrumentals with elaborate nerdcore lyrics and fast-paced delivery. His message centers around self-belief, stoicism, and questioning the status quo. As a proud nerd, many of his songs make reference to Dungeons & Dragons, Video Games, Anime, and more.
Yahzick’s background in musical performance and composition started at age 6 and ranges from Classical to Rock to Ska and Acoustic and Nerdcore Hip Hop. A self-proclaimed underdog, he doesn’t consider himself to be a rapper, but rather a writer who raps. Since 2019 he has released three full length rap albums; Attack of Opportunity, Join the Party, and Organized Lightning. He has also released several singles and has been featured on many collaborations. His music is available on all platforms.
